I can no longer pretend that the Summer has not left. Well, technically Summer is not over until September 21, but I and everyone else are back at work. The days of getting up late, walking on the beach, playing with my kids in the afternoon heat, eating a light meal and drinking wine until late into the night are over. It’s now “early to bed, early to rise”. There is a slight chill in the air giving it that Fall crispness and as you all know Fall is my favorite time for photography! First thing up this season is a 2 day workshop at Aperture Gallery with Rinko Kawauchi this weekend.
The workshop is entitled “Poetics of Photography” and each participant is asked to bring in a series of photographs, between 40 and 50 photographs. What I am doing is bringing in images from the series “Up”. I am including all of the ones which were exhibited or picked for the Blurb book and then a selection of more recent images and some earlier out takes that in retrospect were still pretty good. I’ll take notes and pictures and post them after the workshop.
