Navigation Without Numbers

I have been making photobooks for the past almost 15 years. I did this mainly as a record of my photography since leaving magazine work. Some of the books act as catalogs to some of my gallery shows like Images Alone and Personal Ecologies held at Soho Photo gallery in New York. Some were just records like most of the FOS zines.

Lately I was perusing these works on Blurb and came across the above title, Navigation Without Numbers from 2015. I was surprised by how relevant these images are to what’s happening today in America. You get a sense of someone wandering about unanchored in a a somewhat threatening environment. I especially like the page with the quotes I selected to serve as a sort of summary for the images:
