Flanked by 2 woman, a blonde on my left reading, A Farewell To Arms, and on my right a small brunette with her head buried in, The Old Man and The Sea, I gently stand and excuse myself to walk to the back of the plane to use the lavatory. My wife looks up momentarily and then goes back to reading. My daughter puts down, The Old Man and The Sea, as I pass in order to stretch her legs. Thus began our flight back from Key West and the end of our summer vacation in Key West. We got a little hooked on Hemingway after visiting his Home turned Museum. There were lots of cats. All with six toes.
Apparently – In the bars and boat docks near his Key West home, Hemingway heard tales of six-toed cats with magical powers. Superstitious ship captains brought them onboard for good luck and safe passages. Less superstitious captains brought them along to catch the rats. Captain Stanley Dexter heard the author was interested in the feline gypsies, Dexter gave the famous author one of his own. Hemingway’s sons Patrick and Gregory named the kitten after a famous movie star of the time—Snow White. And from Snow White came the rest of the clan, litter after litter of gypsy cats. Hemingway was rumored to have as many as 150 cats between his homes in Key West and Cuba. (Chewy)

Needless to say I am back at work. Hope your summer was a good one. Now, let’s check out those fall photo exhibitions…
