Aside from Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O’keefe there was no greater photographic couple than Harry Callahan and Eleanor Callahan. Their’s it seemed to me, was a very gentle and respectful relationship. Eleanor was his muse and for 50 years Harry Callahan photographed his model wife in all sorts of poses and locations; always gentle, always respectful. Sadly, Eleanor Callahan passed away on Tuesday.
